Tim Berners-Lee

Lee is English inventor of the World Wide Web. He was born in London on 8 June 1955, and graduated in Physics from Oxford University in 1976. In 1990 he implemented the first successful communication between an HTTP client and server via the Internet at CERN, the European Particle Physics Laboratory.
His initial specifications of URLs, HTTP and HTML were refined and discussed in larger circles as the Web technology spread.
He is the director of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C),and a senior researcher and holder of the 3Com Founders Chair at MIT.
